Entry Into France
The unvaccinated, or not fully vaccinated, are only permitted to travel for essential reasons with the following documents:
- Completed International Travel Certificate confirming your essential reason for travel.
- Completed ‘sworn statement’ form that self-certifies you are not suffering from coronavirus symptoms and have not been in contact with confirmed cases. You will also self-certify that you will self-isolate for a week after arrival.
- UK arrivals who are 12 or over have been required to show a negative Covid test (PCR or antigen) taken within 24 hours of departure. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.
- Self-isolate for seven days from the day you arrive for all adults and children aged 12 or over.
Those fully vaccinated won’t need an essential reason to travel to France or self-isolate on arrival. Prepare the following documents:
- A completed sworn statement, saying you are not suffering from coronavirus symptoms, and that you haven’t been in contact with confirmed cases in the previous fortnight.
- Proof that you’ve been vaccinated.
Entry Into Portugal
All NHS Covid Pass holders must present a negative Covid-19 test result before travelling to mainland Portugal.
Those who don’t have an EU digital Covid vaccination certificate or an EU recovery certificate must follow the following instead:
- Take a Covid-19 test to enter Portugal (unless you’re a child below the age of 11).
- This can be an antigen test taken within 48 hours of departure or a RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours.
- Do not use NHS testing service – get a private test to facilitate your travel to another country.
- Complete the online passenger locator card.
For those who do have an EU digital Covid vaccination certificate or an EU recovery certificate:
- You don’t need to conduct a Covid-19 test to be in Portugal.
- Prepare a digital or paper copy of your Covid vaccination or recovery certificate when you check in for your flight.
- Complete an online passenger locator card.
