The quest for who can offer the lowest price PCR test continues with Tui securing a deal with government-approved testing firm, Chronomics.
Customers travelling to destinations on the governments ‘green list’ are able to buy PCR tests from as little as £20, with the cost including delivery and return costs of the postal tests.
Tui will subsidise the cost when customers buy the test alongside its package holidays.
The holiday operator has agreed on four testing packages;
- £20 for one pre-departure lateral flow test and one inbound PCR test for day two of return
- £60 for one outbound PCR test with courier costs, one pre-departure lateral flow test and one inbound PCR test for day two of return
For travellers heading to amber list destinations, prices start from £50;
- £50 for one pre-departure lateral flow test and two inbound PCR test for days two and eight of home quarantine
- £90 for one outbound PCR test with courier costs, one pre-departure lateral flow test and two inbound PCR tests for days two and eight of home quarantine
Pre-departure lateral flow tests include a test verification and certification to fly back to the UK.
As well as the inbound testing packages required by UK regulations, Tui customers can also select kits that include an additional outbound PCR test should that be a requirement of the destination they are travelling to.
If a booked destination moves from the amber to green list, Tui said it would refund the difference in the testing prices.

“Our research has shown that customers are looking forward to their much-needed holiday overseas, but affordable and easy testing solutions was imperative to make this a reality.”
