United Airlines is the official airline for Pride in London 2022.
The airline says its employees will participate in this year’s march on 2 July 2022 and enter a lively, colourful float into the parade.
United has a proud history of supporting LGBTQ+ communities and has previously marched together in parades and attended festivals in the U.K. and around the world.
In the U.K., United’s business resource group, EQUAL, honoured veteran campaigner, Peter Tatchell, by presenting an EQUAL award at London Heathrow.
Ziv Russell, United’s Chairman EQUAL EMEAI, said: “At United Airlines, we have a diverse group of employees around the world and believe in equality for everyone.
“We are all proud to be supporting Pride in London this year and I know that all of our employees taking part will have an exciting day as together, we fly our United flag with pride.”
Haven Thorn, Pride in London’s Head of PR, said: “Pride is founded on diversity, inclusivity and a welcoming spirit, and we’re extremely pleased to have United Airlines join us this year – marking the 50th anniversary of that first historic protest.
“After a much too long pause, we’re delighted to invite LGBT+ travellers from around the world to take part in our momentous Pride on 2 July.”
The parade this year is expected to draw upwards of 1.5 million visitors and is set to be one of “the largest, most in-demand Pride events this summer.”
United is offering up to 22 daily flights from London Heathrow to the United States this summer.
