Viking, a cruise ship with operational headquarters in Basel (Switzerland) and marketing headquarters in Los Angeles, California (US), has finally accelerated sales of its shipping packages in 2024 after shipping tickets for 2023 were sold out.
The Viking Mississippi ship will sail on the Lower and Upper Mississippi River between New Orleans and St. Paul from August 2022. However, due to strong demand, Viking has opened shipping packages for 2024 from now on, sooner than originally planned.
For that additional voyage, Viking will deploy Mississippi River Cruises. “We are delighted by the ongoing response and support we receive from loyal guests and valued partners ahead of our new voyage on the Mississippi River,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking.
The arrival of Viking cruises to Mississippi will help boost the tourism industry and economic development along the river by contributing at least 5,800 guests in 2022 and more than 17,600 guests by 2023, a significant potential revenue for the region.
