An underground sauna is now open in Dalarna, in central Sweden at the Adventure Mine in Borlänge.
Customers travelling to Sweden looking to indulge in an authentic Scandinavian tradition can now visit the Adventure Mine and partake in guided tours that take them deep underground into the vast rock chambers.
The tour will lead customers to the turquoise-blue underground Aurora Lakes, whose waters resemble the colours of the northern lights.
Customers can bathe in the mine’s crystal clear water and relax in the brand-new sauna – which is 80 metres underground.
The entire experience is guided by an experienced tour guide.
Customers can take in the mine’s original fixtures such as stable stairways and old mining lamps and partake in the “Lady of the Mine” sauna ritual.
The ritual is a kind of tribute to the being who according to legend, is keeping watch over the mind and features various elements to stimulate the body and awaken the senses.
