Tokyo City Promotion 2023 To Be Held At Royal Lancaster London

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) will host a Tokyo City Promotion at Royal Lancaster London on Wednesday 1 February 2023, the first official B2B Tokyo event since 2019.

Travel agents, tour operators, and media can meet with Tokyo accommodation, airline, rail, ground handler, and experience providers, and hear first-hand the new product emerging in 2023.

Exciting new Tokyo openings for 2023 will include hotels by Aman Resorts Ltd, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, EDITION Hotels, IHG Hotels & Resorts/Hotel Indigo, TOKYU HOTELS, and TRUNK.

A number of new attractions are also opening, such as a Harry Potter Studio, a Jurassic World exhibition, and a new subterranean space for TeamLab’s hugely popular immersive art experiences.

Urban development projects set to open include Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, Tokyo MidTown Yaesu, and Toranomon-Azabudai Project.

The free event includes opportunities for meetings between buyers and sellers and networking opportunities.

Guests will have the chance to make their own Japanese wagashi sweets in the beautiful shapes of seasonal flowers.

At the Discover Tokyo 2023 reception evening event, guests can enjoy food and drink with flavours of Japan and will have the chance to win a trip to Tokyo.

  • 10:00-17:00: Travel agencies and tour operators are invited to drop in to meet sellers representing about 15 different travel suppliers
  • 12:30 to 13:15: Tokyo Travel Agent Seminar – including Tokyo news, introduction to the best natural attractions in the Tama area and the islands of Tokyo,  Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, and more.
  • 17:00-19:00: Discover Tokyo 2023 Reception

Pre-registration is required, agents can sign up at Tokyo City Promotion 2023 to secure their place. Deadline 16 January 2023.

Flight capacity from the UK to Japan is set to return to pre-Covid levels in the New Year when Japan Airlines (JAL) resumes its double daily service between London and Tokyo from 12 February 2023.

Currently JAL operates 11 flights per week, but this will increase early next year to 14 flights per week.

ANA restarted daily London to Tokyo flights from 30 October. British Airways recommenced a daily Tokyo service after a 12-month hiatus on 14 November.

Finnair recently boosted its Tokyo services from seven to nine flights a week due to the reopening of the country’s borders.
