Each is for four nights on a full board basis from the 23rd December, and includes a welcome drink, Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, two nights of live entertainment, and a hand-picked excursion as standard.

The festivities begin from the moment customers open their front door, thanks to Saga’s award-winning door-to-door chauffeur service – unique to UK holidays of this kind, and also included in every booking as standard – which takes them from their house to their chosen hotel, and returns them at the end of their holiday.

Saga Travel’s CEO Nigel Blanks comments: “As Saga celebrates its 75th birthday, we’re bringing back some of our most popular holidays, including these Christmas breaks in some of the UK’s best locations.

“Since we were founded, we’ve paid attention to the little details that make a big difference, so customers who book one of these holidays can be assured of a festive experience to remember. We look forward to welcoming them.”

Examples of Saga Holidays’ Christmas breaks include the following:

Four nights at the 4* The Macdonald Drumossie Hotel, Inverness from £1,199 per person

A listed art deco hotel, featuring classic 1930s architecture and set in nine acres of parkland overlooking the Moray Firth, the Drumossie Hotel is a perfect peaceful countryside retreat.

Just three miles away and the UK’s most northerly city, Inverness is the meeting point of history, legends, and breathtaking scenery. Included Excursion: Loch Ness & Camerons Tea Room (Christmas Eve).

Four nights at the 4* Doubletree by Hilton Majestic Hotel, Harrogate from £999 per person

A grand Victorian hotel set in eight acres of landscaped gardens overlooking the picturesque spa town of Harrogate, with a rich history, ornate chandeliers, marble backdrops, and a cruise liner fireplace.

Harrowgate’s natural springs, old-world charm, beautiful parks, and handsome tree-lined boulevards make visiting the city at Christmas a magical experience, with sparkling lights, festive events, and seasonal shopping along the pedestrianised Oxford Street and Cambridge Streets. Included Excursion: Embsay & Bolton Railway (Boxing Day).

Four nights at the 4* Hilton Puckrup Hall, the Cotswolds, from £999 per person

Located not far from the Medieval market town of Tewkesbury and the scenic Malvern Hills, Hilton Puckrup Hall is a Grade II listed Georgian manor house set in 140 acres of private grounds.

Tewkesbury’s charming streets and alleyways come alive at Christmas, and can be explored alongside a visit to its beautiful Norman abbey, and the banks of the River Avon. Included Excursion: Gloucester Cathedral (Christmas Eve).

Four nights at the 4* Pomme d’Or Hotel, St Helier, from £1,519 per person, including return flights

Commanding a position overlooking Liberation Square and the Marina, the Pomme d’Or has welcomed guests to Jersey for 18o years.

From there, guests can explore everything St Helier has to offer, including the Maritime Museum, Elizabeth Castle, and Jersey Museum, while enjoying a Christmas to remember. Included Excursion: Mystery Tour (Christmas Eve).
