EasyJet holidays has claimed to be the first major tour operator to offset carbon emissions from its package holidays.
It will account for the energy used on hotel stays as well as fuel used for all its flights and transfers.
In November 2019, easyJet began to offset the carbon emissions from the fuel used on all its flights.
Garry Wilson, easyJet holidays chief executive, said: “I’m personally very passionate about sustainability and it’s an area I’ve been involved in, and committed to, throughout my time in the travel industry.”
EasyJet and easyJet holidays undertake carbon offsetting through schemes accredited by Gold Standard and VCS. They will include forestry, renewable and community-based projects.
