Around 1.5 million Brits go on at least one ski holiday each year, but which destinations are the most budget-friendly for those looking to take to the slopes in 2025?

Airport transfers experts at hoppa have compiled data and analysed a wide range of factors, from the price of a weekday adult ski pass cost and average snowfall, to average transfer time to reveal Europe’s most budget-friendly resorts for skiers
The top 10 most affordable ski destinations in Europe:

- Ski trips can be expensive, so it’s important to find ways to make them more affordable. One of the most expensive and non-negotiable costs when planning a ski trip is your ski pass, which grants access to the pistes.
- In Bulgaria’s Bansko, a weekday adult ski pass will cost just £28.63, the cheapest in Europe. Bansko’s ski pass is cheaper than half the price of most ski resorts on our list, and a third of the price of Zermatt in Switzerland, the most expensive ski resort in Europe (£89.42).
- If you want to make the most of the cheapest ski pass in Europe, you’ll need a ski transfer from Sofia to Bansko – this can take around 2.5 hours, as it’s 170km away.
- Ranking as the second and third most budget-friendly ski resorts in Europe are Tignes and Cervinia, with weekday adult ski pass costs of £49.46 and £51.19, respectively.

The research also revealed:
- Bansko is crowned the best hidden gem ski resort thanks to its affordability.
- Tignes ranks as the ski resort with the most amount of snow per year, getting around 669cm per year.
- Chamonix also claims the title as the best ski resort for food lovers, with the resort being home to 257 restaurants.
