Melia Hotels International To Open in Chiang Mai

Melia Hotels International is set to open a hotel in the city of Chiang Mai, both of Thailand, later this year.

Owned by the Thai real estate group AWC and launched by Melia, will occupy a 22-floor tower over the River Ping and Night Bazaar.

Featuring 260-rooms, two restaurants, two bars and two lounges, accompanied by a spa with seven treatment rooms, a fitness centre and a swimming pool.

38 of the rooms and six suites will belong to ‘The Level’ category, which includes access to the executive lounge on the 21st floor and benefits from private check-in and out, breakfast service, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails and canapes.

The 22nd floor will be home to the city’s highest rooftop bar, which will connect to another bar via a glass bridge. Both will offer views of the River Ping to the city’s east and the Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop to the west.

The level below will host the hotel’s signature restaurant Nan Thai, which will focus on contemporary Northern Thai dishes with Mediterranean influences, drawing on the group’s Spanish origins. All-day dining restaurant Mosaic will also offer Mediterranean cuisine in a “marketplace setting”.
