PLAY Announces First Winter Schedule Flight With Orlando-London Route

Iceland’s newest low-cost airline PLAY has announced a new route connecting London Stansted to Orlando, Florida via Iceland.

The new route, which is part of PLAY’s winter schedule, is now available for sale until 27 February at an introductory price of £149, for a roundtrip booking. Price will return to £169 one way after 28 February.

PLAY is the only carrier connecting Orlando to London Stansted Airport, the airline said today. The first flight will depart from London Stansted on 30 September 2022.

Passengers can fly from Stansted to Orlando on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays while flights from Orlando to Stansted will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The airline also reported that daily bookings had increased threefold from December when it entered the U.S. market.

In response to growing consumer travel confidence and strong ticket demand, PLAY will add a new Airbus A321 neo LR to its fleet.

PLAY CEO Birgir Jónsson: “PLAY is strategically growing its presence in the United States, and our decision to add the addition of this route to our winter schedule is driven by increasing consumer confidence in and demand for affordable travel.

“We anticipate this route to be popular with European passengers, particularly from Scandinavia, seeking to escape the cold winter to experience Florida’s popular parks and resorts, as well as with American travellers visiting Europe to see family for the holidays or to tour festivals and winter attractions.”

Tickets are available now on www.flyplay.com. The introductory price is inclusive of all mandatory taxes, fees and carrier charges. Restrictions and baggage fees apply.
