Time to Explore the Bahamas Through Virtual Technology

While most other countries are losing their potential revenue due to restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bahamas are unwilling to wait to promote. The island nation is moving fast by presenting the beauty of its tourism virtually.

Over the next two weeks, the Bahamas will bring distinctive romance and unique destination experiences to the virtual world. The opening of virtual Bahamas tourism will be packed with Virtual Romance Expo events on March 3 and 10.

“With last year’s pandemic kicking off, we have had to quickly turn and adapt to a virtual environment to promote and drive the passion for Bahamian travel to our trade and consumer audiences,” said Bridgette King, Executive Director of Global Sales and Marketing for the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation.

Ellison Thompson, Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation in the Bahamas, added that even though there is a pandemic, the Bahamas must remain relevant and become top of mind in the global travel space. “So that, when the time is right, protocols are put in place and it is safe to travel, the Bahamas will be included in their vacation plans,” he said.

Currently, virtual tours are becoming a new trend because those who like traveling cannot travel due to the imposition of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to advanced technology, now everyone in Europe or the Middle East can travel to the Bahamas without leaving the house. It is the same as attending a technology fair in the United States while remaining in the UK.
