For every new trade booking made throughout the rest of 2026, the escorted tour operators will plant a tree at one of two sites: the Maya Forest Restoration Project in Mexico, or the Tamamdt Tree Nursery in Morocco.

There is no cost to the trade and bookings are automatically registered. Agents will receive an email detailing information about the tree and its positive impact on the environment and local communities.

It forms part of the operators’ wider ‘Cares’ responsible tourism strategy, in collaboration with Planeterra, and follows on from a similar peaks incentive implemented in 2025.

The Maya Forest Restoration Project focuses on supporting efforts to improve wildlife conservation in the Mayan Forest, while the Tamamdt Tree Nursery helps ecosystem restoration and conservation in the Safi region through the cultivation of native plant species.

Tom Morgan, Trade Sales Director at Travelsphere and Just You, said: “We’ve always believed in the concept of changing people’s lives through travel and this new campaign is a simple way to turn every trade booking into something that gives back.

“Travel agents play a vital role in helping clients choose experiences that are not only memorable, but also considerate of local communities and destinations we visit. Through this initiative, thousands of trees will be planted, demonstrating how supporting operators with an emphasis on responsible tourism can make a meaningful difference over time.”

The ‘Cares’ programme is part of the operators’ overarching ‘changing lives through travel’ ethos and supports various initiatives globally that focus on benefiting local communities. A total of 48 escorted tours include a visit to a ‘Cares’ project.

Planeterra is a non-governmental organisation that aims to ensure tourism has a positive impact on communities.
